Nicolò Schenetti is the Alumnus of the Month of r12
Nicolò Schenetti was born on 12 January 1996 in Correggio, a small town near Reggio Emilia, but he has always lived in Modena, and is a student of the month of r12. Nicolò studied computer accountant in Modena. After graduation, he began to invest in what is his passion, music: "My parents always supported me, but they also taught me to have to put myself on the line: if I wanted to study music I had to engage, working and investing my pocket in what I believed ”. Perhaps until a few years ago, this speech did not seem very heartening, but now Nicolò thanks his parents because, in this way, he feels the path he has taken much more his. "I struggled and made a lot of sacrifices for what I wanted and now I feel much more stimulated is determined. In recent years, when I happen to play, I use the name Schenna, although, to tell the truth, I'm thinking of looking for a new one. I've always listened to a lot of music since I was a child. "
At the age of 12, Nicolò began to study drums and percussion: this brought him even closer to the world of music. "Then one day, almost as a joke, I and a friend of mine started playing at a small birthday party, and from then on the passion grew more and more. I started playing at parties and I invested the money I earned to buy the different controllers. Among the guys I know, I think I'm one of the few who, when he goes dancing, is still watching all the minimal movements of the DJ in the console ".
Nicolò has always shared his passion with his brother, with whom he has always faced, to talk about different artists and different musical styles. "Always together with him, we started attending the festivals: a wonderful feeling, a sense of freedom that struck me right away and that completely kidnapped me. From then on, whenever possible I go to clubs and festivals. I try to listen to all kinds of music: I really like the Beatles and Pink Floyd, but, mostly, I listen to house music, tech-house and even a bit of techno. I must be honest and also say that old school sounds fascinate me so much. On an artist level, I really admire Paul Kalkbrenner and I think he made a jackpot. In my opinion he managed to create a sound that totally represents him and that distinguishes him from all the others. I also aspire to find a style that identifies me and is mine ”.
Nicolò has a small Pioneer Ddi-Sb console he uses when he plays at private events. "From this year, however, I have come very close to Traktor and I think that my next investments will point in that direction. At the production level, I use Ableton Live 10, and I help myself with a Synth Keylab 49 from Arturia ”.
In recent months, Nicolò has been dedicating day and night to the creation of his artistic image, in the productions and in the part concerning the DJ. "I'm investing so much, I'm very happy to have managed to come here with my strength and I certainly don't want the school to be just a positive experience. I want to be able to turn my dream into reality, to be able to communicate what I have inside through music. I'm starting to realize a lot and it drives me to continue on this path. Thanks to the teachers I can open my gaze more and more towards new stimuli and ideas in producing and reproducing music ".
Positive person, Nicolò takes the right breaks to improve his performance. “Since I attended R12 I intensified the production part, but I still haven't managed to find the right sound or the right groove that can best represent me. I've never published anything outside of my computer. I'm realizing that sometimes it's better to wait to go out and try to take care of something, even in small details, so that we can have a better performance ”.
